An ink stock solution contains at least a dye and a colorless planar compound having more than ten delocalization π electrons in one molecule, and an ink composition is manufactured with the same ink stock solution.

An ink stock solution comprising at least a dye and a colorless planar compound having more than ten delocalization π electrons in one molecule, wherein the concentration of the dye in the ink stock solution is more than 10 mass % and not more than 50 mass %.
