Abstract
A tertiary arylamine compound, such as N,N-diphenyl-4-aminobiphenyl, is formed by reacting an arylbromidem such as 4-bromobiphenyl, and an arylamine, such as diphenylamine, preferably in the presence of a palladium ligated catalyst.
Claims6
A process for forming a tertiary arylamine compound, comprising reacting an arylbromide and a secondary arylamine, in the presence of a catalyst;
- wherein the arylbromide is 4-bromobiphenyl, the secondary arylamine is diphenylamine, and the tertiary arylamine compound is N,N-diphenyl-4-aminobiphenyl;
- and
- wherein the catalyst comprises a palladium acetate ligated with tri-t-butylphosphine and sodium t-butoxide base.
