Abstract
The invention is directed to LDCAM as a purified and isolated protein, the DNA encoding the LDCAM, host cells transfected with cDNAs encoding LDCAM, processes for preparing LDCAM polypeptides and compositions and methods for treating utilizing LDCAM polypeptides.

An isolated polypeptide selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) a polypeptide comprising amino acids X1 to X2 as shown in SEQ ID NO:
- 2, wherein X1 is 1 or 39 and X2 is 374 or 442;
- and
- (b) a polypeptide comprising amino acids X3 to X4 as shown in SEQ ID NO:
- 4, wherein X3 is 1 or 21 and X4 is 356 or 423.
