Abstract
Nucleic acids containing unmethylated CpG dinucleotides and therapeutic utilities based on their ability to stimulate an immune response and to redirect a Th2 response to a Th1 response in a subject are disclosed. Methods for treating atopic diseases, including atopic dermatitis, are disclosed.
Claims4
A method for of promoting a Th1 immune response in a subject, the method comprising:
- administering to a subject a first dose of an immunostimulatory nucleic acid;
- and administering to the subject a second dose of an immunostimulatory nucleic acid, wherein the immunostimulatory nucleic acid comprises a nucleotide sequence comprising 5′-CG-3′ having the formula X1X2CGX3X4, wherein C is unmethylated and X1, X2, X3 and X4 are nucleotides and wherein the immunostimulatory nucleic acid is between 8 and 100 nucleotides in length, and includes more than one CpG dinucleotide.
