Abstract
A backlight assembly having improved strength and a display device having the backlight assembly are provided. The backlight assembly includes a light source supplying light and a fixing member receiving the light source. A deflection preventing portion having a predetermined width is formed on a surface of the fixing member in a direction crossing a diagonal on the surface of the fixing member.

A backlight assembly comprising:
- a light source;
- and
- a fixing member receiving the light source having at least one deflection preventing portion that has a predetermined width and is integrally formed with a surface of the fixing member in a direction crossing a diagonal of the surface of the fixing member, wherein the deflection preventing portion is formed by making unevenness in the surface.
