Non-explosive device for releasably securing components

An arrangement releasably securing components to one another comprising:

• a first component;
• a second component;
• a securing element that mechanically connects said first and second components to one another and that is separable by application of heat thereto, wherein said securing element comprises a thread configured as a continuous endless closed loop of a continuous endless thread material forming said thread, wherein said closed loop includes two straight thread strands that extend respectively along two straight lines between said first and second components and exert a tension force along said two straight thread strands between said first and second components;
• and
• at least one heating device comprising at least one electric resistance heating coil that spirals around at least one of said two straight thread strands of said securing element so as to generate and externally apply heat to said securing element and thereby separate said securing element to release said components from one another.
