Abstract
A polymer blend that contains a polymer of fluorinated monomers and another biocompatible polymer. The polymer blend can form a coating on a medical device. The medical device can be used for treat, prevent or ameliorate a medical condition.
Claims8
An implantable device having a biocompatible coating thereon, wherein the biocompatible coating comprises a polymer blend comprising a biocompatible polymer that comprises fluorinated monomers and at least one other biocompatible polymer,
- wherein the biocompatible polymer that comprises fluorinated monomers has a structure of formula I:
- where m, n and o are integers and all above zero, and
- wherein the biocompatible polymer that comprises fluorinated monomers is generated by direct polymerization of the fluorinated monomers and the hydrophilic monomers.
