Abstract
A lens having at least one lens centration mark formed on a major surface of the lens is disclosed. The lens centration mark may be located at the intersection of a first axis and the major surface, where the major surface is symmetrical about the first axis such that the first axis is an axis of revolution of the surface. A method of making a lens having such lens centration mark, as well as a method for measuring the centration of a lens surface utilizing the lens centration mark, are also disclosed.
Claims21
A lens comprising a first major surface and a second major surface, wherein the first major surface is rotationally symmetrical about a first axis, wherein the first major surface comprises a first lens centration mark located at the intersection of the first major surface and the first axis, the first lens centration mark defining one of a protuberance and a depression, and wherein the second major surface of the lens is rotationally symmetrical about a second axis, and further wherein the second major surface of the lens comprises a second lens centration mark located at the intersection of the second major surface and the second axis.
A lens comprising a first major surface and a second major surface, wherein the first major surface is rotationally symmetrical about a first axis, the first axis being different from an optical axis of the lens, wherein the first major surface comprises a first lens centration mark located at the intersection of the first major surface and the first axis, wherein the second major surface of the lens is rotationally symmetrical about a second axis, and further wherein the second major surface of the lens comprises a second lens centration mark located at the intersection of the second major surface and the second axis.
A lens comprising a first major surface and a second major surface, wherein the first major surface is rotationally symmetrical about a first axis, wherein the first major surface comprises a first lens centration mark located at the intersection of the first major surface and the first axis, wherein the second major surface of the lens is rotationally symmetrical about a second axis, and further wherein the second major surface of the lens comprises a second lens centration mark located at the intersection of the second major surface and the second axis.
