Abstract
Data interchange is performed by opening a document having tagged information including data tags and data. The data, such as data associated with data fields is updated. A target, such as a bar code is generated based on the data tags and data. The updated data is stored and/or transmitted, electronically and/or using the target. For example, the target can be a bar code which can be printed.
Claims33
A method for data interchange, comprising:
- accessing a first electronic document having at least one data field;
- displaying the first electronic document to a user on a display;
- receiving information inputted by the user into the at least one data field;
- generating a bar code based on the at least one data field and the information inputted by the user into the at least one data field;
- and
- storing the at least one data field and the information inputted by the user into the at least one data field.
A method for data interchange, comprising:
- opening an electronic document having tagged bar coded information including data tags and data;
- displaying the electronic document to a user on a display;
- receiving input from the user;
- updating the data based on the input from the user;
- updating a bar code defined by the tagged bar code information;
- and
- transmitting the tagged bar coded information of the first electronic document.
A method for data interchange, comprising:
- opening an electronic document having embedded bar coded information;
- displaying the electronic document to a user;
- receiving input from the user;
- updating data within data fields of the document using the input from the user;
- updating the embedded bar coded information based on the data;
- and
- generating a bar code based on the embedded bar coded information.
A method of data interchange, comprising:
- opening an electronic document having tagged information including data tags and data;
- displaying the electronic document to a user;
- receiving input from the user;
- updating the data using the input from the user;
- generating a target defined by the tagged information;
- wherein the target is a physical target.
A method for data interchange, comprising:
- accessing at least one document, each of the at least one document having a plurality of data fields for accepting information input by a user;
- generating at least one bar code for the plurality of data fields for each of the at least one document;
- placing the at least one bar code on a subsequent document, the subsequent document different from the at least one document.
A method for data interchange, comprising:
- providing a first document having at least one data field;
- receiving information inputted into the at least one data field;
- generating a bar code based on the at least one data field and the information inputted into the at least one data field;
- storing the at least one data field and the information inputted into the at least one data field;
- and
- wherein the bar code directly encodes unicode characters.
A method for data interchange, comprising:
- providing a first document having at least one data field, wherein the first electronic document uses a first style sheet;
- receiving information inputted into the at least one data field;
- generating a bar code based on the at least one data field and the information inputted into the at least one data field;
- storing the at least one data field and the information inputted into the at least one data field;
- exchanging information inputted into the at least one data field of the first document with at least one data field of a second document, wherein the second document uses a second style sheet.
