Medicated tampon

A method for manufacturing a medicated tampon adapted to deliver a therapeutic agent, the method comprising:

• manufacturing a tampon body having a distal end;
• producing a dosage form having a plurality of layers including an attachment layer, wherein the dosage form includes a formulation including a therapeutic agent;
• and
• affixing the dosage form to the distal end of the tampon body, including partially melting the attachment layer to affix the dosage form.

A method for manufacturing a medicated tampon adapted to deliver a therapeutic agent, the method comprising:

• manufacturing a tampon body having a distal end;
• producing a dosage form having a plurality of layers, wherein the dosage form includes a formulation including a therapeutic agent;
• and
• affixing the dosage form to the distal end of the tampon body, including using a biologically-compatible adhesive to affix the dosage form.

A method for manufacturing a medicated tampon adapted to deliver a therapeutic agent, the method comprising:

• manufacturing a tampon body having a distal end;
• producing a dosage form having a plurality of layers includes forming a first active layer including active layer material, and forming an attachment layer including attachment material, wherein the dosage form includes a formulation including a therapeutic agent, the therapeutic agent being incorporated in the first active layer;
• and
• affixing the dosage form to the distal end of the tampon body by partially melting the attachment layer.
