Abstract
A telecommunication system includes telecommunication resources, points, and a connection manager. The connection manager is configured to establish connections between the telecommunications resources and the points in response to a request from an application. The connection manager uses routing tables to select the most efficient route from the available routes between a telecommunications resource and a point. The routing tables establish the connection by sending a request to allocate a telecommunications resource to a session manager.
Claims8
A method for dynamically allotting a resource to an application, the method comprising:
- triggering an event signal in response to an event occurring;
- receiving the event signal at a management module configured to manage a plurality of resources;
- requesting a resource from a system module in response to the received event signal;
- allocating the resource to the application in response to the request for the resource;
- executing the application;
- determining whether execution of the application is complete;
- de-allocating the resource from the application in response to execution of the application being complete, the resource re-allocable to a subsequent request for the resource.
A computer readable medium structured to store instructions executable by a processor, the instructions when executed cause the processor to:
- trigger an event signal in response to an event occurring;
- receive the event signal at a management module configured to manage a plurality of resources;
- request a resource from a system module in response to the received event signal;
- allocate the resource to the application in response to the request for the resource;
- execute the application;
- determine whether execution of the application is complete;
- de-allocate the resource from the application in response to execution of the application being complete, the resource re-allocable to a subsequent request for the resource.
