Recording tape cartridge and drive device thereof

A recording tape cartridge used with a drive device that includes an abutting surface, which abuts against a front side portion of the recording tape cartridge with respect to a first direction when the recording tape cartridge is moved toward the drive device in the first direction for loading of the recording tape cartridge thereinto, a bucket on which the recording cartridge is to be placed when the recording cartridge is moved in a second direction that is orthogonal to the first direction, and positioning members which insert into the recording tape cartridge for positioning thereof when the recording cartridge is moved in the second direction, the recording tape cartridge comprising:

• a case for accommodating a reel wound with a recording tape, the case including a bottom surface which is substantially parallel to the first direction at the time of loading the recording tape cartridge into the drive device, and a front surface which is formed at the front side portion of the recording tape cartridge in the first direction;
• a pair of positioning holes formed separately from each other on the bottom surface of the case, said positioning members being capable of being respectively inserted into the positioning holes when the recording tape cartridge is moved in the second direction at the time of loading of the recording tape cartridge into the drive device;
• and
• a pair of regulating surfaces which are formed at the front surface and which abut the abutting surface of the drive device, wherein a portion of at least one of the pair of regulating surfaces is disposed on a straight line that is perpendicular to a line drawn between the pair of positioning holes and that passes through one of the pair of positioning holes;
• wherein each of the pair of regulating surfaces comprises a recessed surface with respect to the rest of the front surface of the case.
