Abstract
The present invention provides methods and compositions relating to generating plants having increased levels of oil and protein. This invention further provides recombinant expression cassettes, host cells, transgenic plants and genetically altered plants. The invention further provides isolated polynucleotides and their encoded proteins that are involved in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis.
Claims22
An isolated polynucleotide comprising a DNA sequence selected from the group consisting of:
- a) a polynucleotide comprising the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 147;
- b) a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide with transcriptional activity, which polynucleotide has a sequence that is at least 90% identical to the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 147;
- and c) a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide with transcriptional activity and hybridizing under stringent conditions to any one of a) or b), wherein said stringent conditions comprise 50% formamide, 5×SSC at 42° C., and washing in 0.1×SSC, 0.1% SDS at 65° C.
