Abstract
The invention relates to display and protective articles having a fluorochemical surface layer, and methods of making such articles. The invention also relates to fluoropolyether acrylate compositions.
Claims28
An article comprising:
- a) a light transmissive substrate having a surface layer comprising the reaction product of
- i) at least one fluoropolyether (meth)acryl compound the fluoropolyether (meth)acryl compound comprising at least one terminal F(CF(CF3)CF2O)aCF(CF3)— group and at least two (meth)acryl groups wherein a averages from 4 to 15, and
- ii) at least 50 wt-% of non-fluorinated crosslinking agent(s);
- and
- b) a hardcoat layer disposed between the substrate and the surface layer wherein the hardcoat comprises inorganic particles dispersed in a binder comprising one or more free-radically polymerized monomers, oligomers, or polymers.
A display panel comprising:
- a) a light transmissive substrate having a surface layer comprising the reaction product of
- i) at least one fluoropolyether (meth)acryl compound comprising at least one terminal F(CF(CF3)CF2O)aCF(CF3)— group wherein a averages from 4 to 15, and at least two (meth)acryl groups, and
- ii) at least 50 wt-% of non-fluorinated crossliniking agent(s);
- and
- b) a hardcoat layer disposed between the substrate and the surface layer wherein the hardcoat comprises inorganic particles dispersed in a binder comprising one or more free-radically polymerized monomers, oligomers, or polymers.
