Abstract
A printer housing cover serves the dual purpose of protecting the printer's paper entry slot and user interface in a closed configuration and, in an open configuration, serving as a paper tray. The cover is hingedly connected to the housing and in a preferred embodiment includes a leaf that is in turn hinged to the cover. By unfolding the leaf an extended paper tray is provided that nevertheless folds down into a compact configuration when the printer is not in use.

A printer including;
- a housing formed with a print media entry slot;
- a cover hingedly connected to the housing and arranged to cover the print media entry slot in a closed position and to form a print media tray for directing print media into said entry slot in an open position.
