Abstract
A computer-based method of processing a computer graphics illustration having pieces of artwork includes mapping outlines of the pieces of artwork onto a grid of cells, determining a number of outlines that map to a cell, and identifying a complex region based on the determined number of outlines that map to the cell.
Claims19
A computer-implemented method of graphics processing, the method comprising:
- stroking artwork objects of a computer graphics illustration onto a grid of cells;
- identifying a cell as a complex region based on a darkness of the cell after the stroking;
- and
- identifying one or more of the artwork objects of the illustration to include in an illustration flattening process based on the identification of the complex region.
1 more element
A computer program product, tangibly stored on (machine) computer readable medium, for computer graphics processing, the product comprising instructions operable to cause a processor to:
- stroke artwork objects of a computer graphics illustration onto a grid of cells;
- identify a cell as a complex region based on a darkness of the cell after stroking and
- exclude, based on the identifying of the cell as a complex region, one or more artwork objects from an illustration flattening process.
