Abstract
Methods for treating fibromyalgia by administering a therapeutically effective amount of a botulinum toxin to a patient with fibromyalgia.
Claims11
A method for treating fibromyalgia, the method comprising the step of subcutaneously or intramuscularly administering a therapeutically effective amount of a botulinum toxin to treat a patient with fibromyalgia, the botulinum toxin administering being carried out at a first location which first location is anatomically distinct from and/or anatomically distant from a second location, at which second location the patient has a fibromyalgia pain which is alleviated by the administration of the botulinum toxin at the first location, wherein the first location and the second location are within a same dermatome, thereby treating fibromyalgia.
A method for treating fibromyalgia, the method comprising the step of subcutaneously or intramuscularly administering about 15-180 units of a botulinum toxin to treat a patient with fibromyalgia, the botulinum toxin administering being carried out at a first location which first location is anatomically distinct from and/or anatomically distant from a second location, wherein the first location and the second location are within a same dermatome and at which second location the patient has a fibromyalgia pain which is alleviated by the administration of the botulinum toxin at the first location, thereby treating fibromyalgia.
A method for treating fibromyalgia, the method comprising the step of subcutaneously or intramuscularly administering a therapeutically effective amount of a botulinum toxin to treat a patient with fibromyalgia, the botulinum toxin administering being carried out at a first location which first location is anatomically distinct from and/or anatomically distant from a second location, wherein the first location and the second location are within a same dermatome and at which second location the patient has a tender point which is alleviated by the administration of the botulinum toxin at the first location, thereby treating fibromyalgia.
A method for treating fibromyalgia, the method comprising the step of subcutaneously or intramuscularly administering a therapeutically effective amount of a botulinum toxin type A to treat a patient with fibromyalgia, the botulinum toxin type A administering being carried out at a first location which first location is anatomically distinct from and/or anatomically distant from a second location, at which second location the patient has a fibromyalgia pain which is alleviated by the administration of the botulinum toxin type A at the first location, wherein the first location and the second location are within a same dermatome, thereby treating fibromyalgia.
