Abstract
A projection type image display device is formed including projecting means for projecting an image onto a screen for image display by scanning laser light. The laser light includes a plurality of laser beams. The projecting means irradiates a substantially identical position on the screen with the plurality of laser beams with a time difference. An image signal applied to each of the laser beams has a time difference such that a preceding laser beam is delayed with respect to a succeeding laser beam so as to correspond to the time difference in irradiation.
Claims10
A projection type image display device comprising:
- projecting means for projecting an image onto a screen for image display by scanning laser light;
- wherein said laser light includes a plurality of laser beams;
- said projecting means irradiates a substantially identical position on said screen with at least two of said plurality of laser beams with a time difference;
- and
- an image signal applied to each of said laser beams has the time difference such that a preceding said laser beam is delayed with respect to a succeeding said laser beam so as to correspond to said time difference in irradiation,
- wherein said plurality of laser beams comprise laser beams of different display colors, and a color image is displayed as said image on said screen, and
- wherein a ratio between laser outputs of the display colors at a time of white display is satisfied, and a number of light sources for the laser beams of the display colors is set so as to equalize outputs of the laser beams.
A projection type image display device comprising:
- grating light valve elements;
- and
- a scanning mirror adapted to scan modulated first and second laser beams onto a screen, wherein:
- a first element of said grating light valve elements is adapted to use an image signal for modulating a first laser beam to form said modulated first laser beam,
- a second element of said grating light valve elements is adapted to use said image signal delayed by a time difference for modulating a second laser beam to form said modulated second laser beam,
- said first laser beam has a first laser beam color and said second laser beam has a second laser beam color, and
- said first laser beam color is the same as said second laser beam color.
