A novel human IL-18 native crystalline structure is identified.

A composition comprising human IL-18 protein in a crystalline form, wherein said protein has a cysteine to serine substitution at residue 38 of SEQ ID No:
- 1, and wherein the protein crystal is a primitive hexagonal (P61) crystal with unit cell dimensions a=71.4°, b=71.4°, c=88.7° α,β=90° and γ=120°.
