The invention relates to a composition which comprises a dispersion of micro spheres in a gel comprising an oily base and an organic polymeric gelling agent.

A cable filling or cable flooding composition comprising a dispersion of hollow expanded microspheres in a gel comprising an oily base and a thermoplastic elastomer, wherein the microspheres each have a shell formed of a copolymer of acrylonitrile and methacrylonitrile, said copolymer having CAS Registry No. 38742-70-0, wherein said composition is thixotropic under ambient temperature conditions, and wherein said composition has an operating temperature range of about +80 C to about −40 C.
A cable containing a cable filling or cable flooding composition comprising a dispersion of hollow expanded micro spheres in a gel composition comprising an oily base and a thermoplastic elastomer, wherein the micro spheres each have a shell formed of a copolymer of acrylonitrile and methacrylonitrile, said copolymer having CAS Registry No. 38742-70-0.
