Bicyclic compounds and compositions as PDF inhibitors

A compound of Formula I:

• in which:
• n is 1, 2 or 3;
• Z is selected from —S—, —S(O)—, and —S(O)2—;
• R1 is selected from hydrogen, C1-6alkyl, —XC(O)NR5OR6, —XNR5COR6 and —XC(O)NR5R6;
• wherein X is selected from a bond, C1-6alkylene, C2-6alkenylene and C2-6alkynylene;
• wherein X can be optionally substituted with halo, hydroxy and cyano;
• R5 is selected from hydrogen, hydroxy and C1-4alkyl;
• and R6 is selected from hydrogen and C1-4alkyl;
• R2 is selected from hydrogen, C1-12alkyl, C2-12alkenyl, C2-12alkynyl, halo-substituted-C1-12alkyl, —XOR5, —XOR7, —XC(O)OR5, —XOC(O)R5, —XC(O)NR5R6, —XC(O)NR5R7, —XC(O)NR5OR6, —XR7, —XCHR7R7, —XC(O)R6, —XOXOR6, —XOXOR7, —XC(O)R7, —XC≡N, —XC(O)XR7, —XOXR7, —XC(O)NR5XR7 and —XC(O)NR5XNR5R6;
• wherein X, R5 and R6 are as described above and R7 is selected from C3-10cycloalkyl, C5-8heterocycloalkyl, C6-10aryl and C5-8heteroaryl;
• wherein any cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl or heteroaryl of R7 can be optionally substituted by one to three radicals selected from halo, C1-4alkyl, C1-4alkoxy, cyano, halo-substituted-C1-4alkyl and —XC(O)OR5;
• wherein X and R5 are as described above;
• with the proviso that R1 and R2 cannot both be hydrogen;
• with the proviso that R2 is not hydrogen when R1 is —CH2C(O)NHOH;
• R3 is selected from hydrogen, halo, C1-6alkyl, C1-6alkoxy, halo-substituted-C1-6alkyl and halo-substituted-C1-6alkoxy;
• and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts, hydrates, solvates and isomers thereof.
