Semiconductor device and method for manufacturing the same

An active matrix display device comprising:

• a semiconductor film over a substrate;
• a first insulating film over the semiconductor film
• a gate electrode formed over the first insulating film;
• source and drain interconnections over the first insulating film and connected to the semiconductor film though openings in the first insulating film;
• a second insulting film formed over the source and drain interconnections;
• a light-shielding film formed over the second insulating film;
• a third insulating film formed over the light-shielding film;
• and
• a pixel electrode formed over the third insulating film, the pixel electrode electrically connected to the drain interconnection,
• wherein the gate electrode and the source and drain interconnections are formed of the same material,
• wherein the light shielding film, the third insulating film and the pixel electrode are overlapped with each other, and
• wherein the drain interconnection, the second insulating film and the light- shielding film are overlapped with each other.
