Abstract
A projection apparatus comprises a Light Emitting Diode (LED) and a cooling arrangement is described herein.
Claims10
A projection apparatus comprising:
- a Light Emitting Diode (LED) to produce light for projection;
- a power supply coupled to the LED to provide power to the LED;
- a thermal sensor thermally coupled to the LED and configured to provide an output based at least in part on a thermal condition of the LED;
- a cooling system thermally coupled to the LED;
- and
- a processor coupled to the thermal sensor and configured to control the power supply in a manner to partially attenuate the power provided to the LED and to control the cooling system to cool the LED based at least in part on the output received from the thermal sensor.

A projection apparatus comprising:
- a light emitting diode (LED) to produce light for projection;
- a power supply coupled to the LED to provide power to the LED;
- a cooling system thermally coupled to the LED;
- a light output monitor to provide information on an amount of light output from the LED;
- and
- a processor, coupled to the power supply, the cooling system, and the light output monitor, and configured to control at least the power supply and the cooling system based at least in part on the provided information from the light output monitor.
