Abstract
Cyclohexane is reacted with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of nitric acid which is used as a catalyst in a suitable solvent for the production of trimeric cyclohexane peroxide.

A method for producing trimeric cyclic ketone peroxides comprising reacting a ketone with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of an acidic catalyst and acetic acid as the solubilizer in a suitable solvent, wherein nitric acid is the acidic catalyst.
