Azaindole thiazolinones

A compound of the formula:

• wherein
• R1 is selected from hydrogen, lower alkyl, hydroxy-lower alkyl, cyclo-lower alkyl, lower alkoxy-lower alkyl and R2—(X)n;
• where n is an integer from 0 to 1;
• X is selected from lower alkylene, hydroxy-loweralkylene, cyclo-loweralkylene, lower alkoxy-lower alkylene and lower alkanoyloxy-lower alkylene;
• R2 is
• is selected from an aryl ring, a 4 to 6 membered heterocycloalkyl ring containing from 3 to 5 carbon atoms and from 1 to 2 hetero atoms selected from the group consisting of oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur;
• and a 5 or 6 membered heteroaromatic ring containing from 1 to 2 hetero atoms selected from the group consisting of oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen;
• R5 and R6 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydroxy, hydroxy-lower alkyl, hydrogen, lower alkyl, halogen, perfluro lower alkyl and lower alkoxy, and n is an integer from 0 to 1;
• and
• pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
