Abstract
The invention relates to a sliding element for a shoe sole. The sliding element includes an upper sliding surface and a lower sliding surface, wherein the lower sliding surface is arranged below the upper sliding surface so as to be slideable in at least two directions. The upper sliding surface can form a lower side of an upper heel cup and the lower sliding surface can form an upper side of a lower heel cup, wherein the upper heel cup and the lower heel cup have corresponding substantially spherical shapes. Complex multi-dimensional sliding and cushioning movements between the upper sliding surface and the lower sliding surface are made possible by the corresponding three-dimensional shapes of the two substantially spherical surfaces.
Claims9
A sliding element for a shoe sole, comprising:
- an upper sliding surface disposed within a shoe sole at a location substantially corresponding to a heel portion;
- a lower sliding surface disposed within a shoe sole at the location substantially corresponding to a heel portion, wherein the lower sliding surface is arranged at least in partial sliding contact with the upper sliding surface and the upper sliding surface and the lower sliding surface comprise portions of spherical surfaces;
- and
- an elastic element flexibly coupling the upper sliding surface to the lower sliding surface;
- wherein the lower sliding surface slides relative to the upper sliding surface upon impact between the shoe sole and a ground surface, from a first position to a second position, and wherein the elastic element provides a restoring force to slide the lower sliding surface relative to the upper sliding surface from the second position to the first position.
A sliding element for a shoe sole, comprising:
- an upper sliding surface comprising a surface corresponding substantially to a lower side of a human heel, the upper sliding surface disposed within a shoe sole at a location substantially corresponding to a heel portion;
- and
- a lower sliding surface disposed within a shoe sole at the location substantially corresponding to a heel portion, wherein the lower sliding surface is arranged at least in partial sliding contact with the upper sliding surface and the upper sliding surface and the lower sliding surface comprise portions of spherical surfaces, and the upper sliding surface and the lower sliding surface may move with respect to each other, thus providing a cushioning effect during an impact phase along arbitrary trajectories within an area defined by a contact interface between the upper sliding surface and the lower sliding surface.
A sliding element for a shoe sole, comprising:
- an upper sliding surface comprising a surface corresponding substantially to a lower side of a human heel, the upper sliding surface disposed within a shoe sole at a location substantially corresponding to a heel portion;
- a lower sliding surface disposed within a shoe sole at the location substantially corresponding to a heel portion, wherein the lower sliding surface is arranged at least in partial sliding contact with the upper sliding surface and the upper sliding surface and the lower sliding surface comprise portions of spherical surfaces, and wherein the lower sliding surface slides relative to the upper sliding surface from a first neutral position to a second position upon application of an impact force between the shoe sole and a ground surface;
- and
- means for returning the lower sliding surface from the second position to the first neutral position upon removal of the force.
