Cleaning article

A cleaning article comprising:

• a soft and fusible base sheet having a plurality of cut lines extending inward from an edge of the sheet, such that a plurality of strips are formed between adjacent cut lines;
• a fiber bundle layer including fusible filaments, wherein the fiber bundle layer is located on one side of the base sheet and extends across the plurality of strips to the edge of the base sheet;
• a first joining portion that joins the fiber bundle layer to the base sheet and that extends through a surface of said fiber bundle layer, said surface being the surface furthest from said base sheet;
• at least one second joining portion that joins some of the filaments of the fiber bundle layer to the sheet and that does not extend to the surface of said fiber bundle layer, said surface being the surface furthest from said base sheet;
• and
• a brush portion defined by the plurality of strips and the fiber bundle layer extending across the plurality of strips.
