Abstract
The present invention provides a protein having a β1,3-galactosyltransferase activity derived from a microorganism; a DNA encoding the protein; a recombinant DNA containing the DNA and a vector; a transformant obtained by introducing the recombinant DNA into a host cell; a method for producing a protein having a β1,3-galactosyltransferase activity using the transformant; and a method for producing a galactose-containing carbohydrate using the transformant.
Claims16
An isolated or purified DNA encoding a protein comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1.
An isolated or purified DNA comprising the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2.
An isolated or purified DNA which hybridizes with a DNA comprising the complementary sequence to the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2 under stringent conditions comprising a wash step with 0.1 ×SSC at 65° C., and which encodes a protein having a β1,3 galactosyltransferase activity.
An isolated or purified DNA encoding a protein comprising an amino acid sequence in which at most 20 amino acids are deleted, replaced, inserted or added in the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1, said protein having β1,3-galactosyltransferase activity.
