A cutting device comprising a ceramic cutting member for cutting a material and providing a cut portion of the material, and a heating assembly comprising an electrical induction arrangement for heating the cut portion of the material by induction heating, wherein the heating assembly comprises electrical induction coils and the cutting device includes a holding assembly to hold the cut portion on the cutting member, the holding assembly comprising an engagement portion and vacuum means.
