Abstract
A tool changing device for a machine tool with at least one tool carrier is proposed, which comprises at least one transit station, into which a tool is introducable in an inward transit direction and is extractable in an outward transit direction, wherein, at the transit station, the tool is at least one of detachable from the assigned tool carrier and fixable to the tool carrier provided.
Claims36
A tool changing device for a machine tool with at least one tool carrier, comprising:
- at least one transit station operatively positioned to receive a tool introduced into an intermediate position within the at least one transit station via an inward transit direction and operatively positioned to release the tool via an outward transit direction;
- a holding apparatus adapted for holding the tool at the intermediate location within at the at least one transit station, wherein the holding apparatus comprises opposing, rotatable gripper elements such that, depending on the rotary position of the gripper elements, the gripper elements can receive a tool introduced via the inward transit direction, positively hold a tool in the intermediate position, or release a tool via the outward transit direction;
- and
- wherein, at the at least one transit station, the tool can be detached from the at least one tool carrier, affixed to the at least one tool carrier, or both.
