Abstract
The present invention provides cotton plants, cotton tissues, and cotton seeds that include the MON15985 event, which confers resistance to Lepidopteran insect damage. Also provided are assays for detecting the presence of the MON15985 event based on the DNA sequence of the recombinant construct inserted into the cotton genome that resulted in the MON15985 event and/or the genomic sequences flanking the insertion site.
Claims12
An insect resistant cotton plant, seed of said cotton plant having been deposited with the American Type Culture Collection under accession number PTA-2516.
An insect resistant cotton plant, comprising incorporated into the plant's genome an insert DNA encoding Cry2Ab and DNA having nucleotide sequences of SEQ ID NO:14, SEQ ID NO:15, SEQ ID NO:16, SEQ ID NO:17 and SEQ ID NO:18.
An insect resistant cotton plant, wherein DNA encoding Cry2Ab and DNA having nucleotide sequences of SEQ ID NO:11 and SEQ ID NO:12 form a part of the plant's genome.
