Abstract
The present invention provides a protein having α1,2-fucosyltransferase activity, a DNA encoding the protein, a recombinant DNA comprising the DNA, a transformant comprising the recombinant DNA, a process for producing the protein having α1,2-fucosyltransferase activity using the transformant, and a process for producing a fucose-containing complex carbohydrate using the transformant.
Claims25
An isolated protein comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.
An isolated protein which consists of an amino acid sequence having an identity of at least 95% with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1, and has al ,2-fucosyltransferase activity.
An isolated DNA comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:2.
An isolated DNA which hybridizes with a DNA consisting of the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 under stringent conditions, having an identity of at least 80% with the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, that encodes a protein having α1,2-fucosyltransferase activity,
- wherein the stringent conditions comprise hybridization at 65° C. in the presence of 0.7–1.0 mol/l sodium chloride using a filter on which a DNA prepared from colonies or plaques is immobilized, and then washing the filter with 0.1×SSC solution at 65° C.
