A method of treating rheumatoid arthritis in a mammal, comprising administering to said mammal an effective amount of an immunoadhesin comprising an extracellular domain sequence of the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:32, wherein said extracellular domain sequence consists of amino acid residues 1 or 21 to X of SEQ ID NO:

32, where X is any amino acid from 271 to 281.
