Abstract
Pathways to rapid and reliable fabrication of nanocylinder arrays are provided. Simple methods are described for the production of well-ordered arrays of nanopores, nanowires, and other materials. This is accomplished by orienting copolymer films and removing a component from the film to produce nanopores, that in turn, can be filled with materials to produce the arrays. The resulting arrays can be used to produce nanoscale media, devices, and systems.
Claims18
A nanoscale array comprising an electrically-conductive substrate and nanowires arranged in parallel on the substrate, the nanowires each having a diameter of 1.0 to 100 nanometers, and having a periodicity of 1.0 to 100 nanometers;
- and
- a polymer matrix between the nanowires,
- wherein the substrate is a metal substrate.
A magnetic array comprising a substrate and an array of nanoscopic cylinders comprising a magnetic material and arranged in parallel on the substrate, and
- an organic polymer matrix disposed between the cylinders comprising the magnetic material,
- wherein the substrate is a metal substrate.
A magnetic array comprising a substrate and an array of nanoscopic cylinders comprising a magnetic material and arranged in parallel on the substrate,
- wherein the substrate is a gold substrate.
