Abstract
The present invention relates to a hybrid enzyme comprising at least one carbohydrate-binding module amino acid sequence and at least the catalytic module of a glucoamylase amino acid sequence. The invention also relates to the use of the hybrid enzyme in starch processing and especially ethanol production.
Claims28
A hybrid enzyme which comprises an amino acid sequence of a catalytic module having glucoamylase activity and an amino acid sequence of a carbohydrate-binding module, wherein:
- (a) the catalytic module is an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 24;
- SEQ ID NO:
- 25, and SEQ ID NO:
- 26 or a catalytic module which has at least 95% identity to SEQ ID NO:
- 24;
- SEQ ID NO:
- 25, or SEQ ID NO:
- 26;
- (b) the carbohydrate-binding module is an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, SEQ ID NO:
- 18, and SEQ ID NO:
- 28, or a carbohydrate-binding module which differs from SEQ ID NO:
- 2, SEQ ID NO:
- 18, or SEQ ID NO:
- 28 in no more than 10 amino acid positions.
