Raw material kit for electrolytic composition, electrolytic composition, and dye-sensitized solar cell

A dye-sensitized solar cell, comprising:

• an n-type semiconductor electrode containing a dye;
• a counter electrode;
• and
• a gel electrolyte arranged between said n-type semiconductor electrode and said counter electrode, said gel electrolyte consisting essentially of a gelling agent and an electrolyte, the electrolyte containing iodine, a quatemary ammonium salt represented by formula (1) given below and at least one iodide selected from the group consisting of an iodide of an alkali metal, an iodide of an organic compound and a molten salt of an iodide, and said gelling agent being a metal salt obtained by crosslinking a quaternary ammonium salt of polycarboxylic acid having a COONR4 group with an iodide of a metal having a valency of not less than two;

• wherein each R is independently an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, a substituted aryl group, a fused aryl group, a substituted heterocyclic group, or a fused heterocyclic group.
