Abstract
A highly efficient pelletizing system for making thermoplastic micropellets includes and extruder for extruding molten thermoplastic into thermoplastic strands. A rotor cuts the strands into micropellets. The rotor has more than four teeth per inch and operates at a very high speed.
Claims5
A rotor for a micropellet granulator comprising:
- a cylinder, the cylinder having a generally curved surface;
- a plurality of teeth extending from the curved surface;
- and
- the rotor having a tooth density of less than four tenths of an inch along substantially all of the curved surface.
