Abstract
Provided is a method, system, and program for providing synchronization in a binary data stream. A binary data stream is received. A synchronization mark having at least one isolated peak is generated into at least one point in the data stream. An encoded data stream is formed by concatenating the synchronization mark with the received binary data. During decoding, the synchronization mark is detected based on error propagation occurring adjacent to the at least one isolated peak of the synchronization mark.
Claims38
A method for providing synchronization in a binary data stream, compnsing:
- receiving the binary data stream;
- generating a synchronization mark having at least one isolated peak into at least one point in the binary data stream;
- forming an encoded data stream by concatenating the synchronization mark with the received binary data stream;
- and
- during decoding, detecting the synchronization mark based on error propagation occurring adjacent to the at least one isolated peak of the synchronization mark.
A system for providing synchronization in a binary data stream, comprising:
- means for receiving the binary data stream;
- means for generating a synchronization mark having at least one isolated peak into at least one point in the binary data stream;
- means for forming an encoded data stream by concatenating the synchronization mark with the received binary data stream;
- and
- means for during decoding, detecting the synchronization mark based on error propagation occurring adjacent to the at least one isolated peak of the synchronization mark.
An article of manufacture including code for providing synchronization in a binary data stream, wherein the code causes operations to be performed comprising:
- receiving the binary data stream;
- generating a synchronization mark having at least one isolated peak into at least one point in the binary data stream;
- forming an encoded data stream by concatenating the synchronization mark with the received binary data stream;
- and
- during decoding, detecting the synchronization mark based on error propagation occurring adjacent to the at least one isolated peak of the synchronization mark.
