Abstract
A compound for use in organic EL devices comprising Xn—Y wherein X is a compound of the formula and Y is a linking group and R1 to R8 and a to d are hydrogen, an alkyl group, an aryl group which may be substituted, an allyl group which may be substituted, a heterocyclic group which may be substituted, an amino group, or an arylamino group which may be substituted.

A compound having a basic skeleton of the following formula (1):
- Xn—Y (1)
- wherein X is a compound of the following formula (2) and may be the same or different, Y is a linking group selected from a substituted or unsubstituted phenylene group, and n is an integer of 2,
- wherein R1 to R8 and a to d each are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, an alkyl group, an aryl group which may be substituted, an allyl group which may be substituted, a heterocyclic group which may be substituted, an amino group, and an arylamino group which may be substituted.
A compound selected from the group consisting of:
- wherein for compound (A), R1 to R7 and R1 to R17 each are hydrogen, an alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, or a heterocyclic group;
- wherein for compound (H), R1 to R3, R5 to R8, R11 to R13, and R15 to R18 each are hydrogen, an alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, or a heterocyclic group;
- and
- wherein for compound (BBB′), R1 to R5, R7, R8, R11 to R15, R17, and R18 each are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, an alkyl group, an aryl group which may be substituted, an allyl group which may be substituted, a heterocyclic group which may be substituted, an amino group, and an arylamino group which may be substituted.
