Abstract
The present invention describes the cloning and molecular and cellular characterization of a novel protein with homology to the IL-17 receptor. The gene was cloned by virtue of its proximity to a common site of retroviral integration in a murine acute myeloid leukemia. The gene described herein possibly codes for a novel interleukin receptor that binds an as yet unidentified cytokine ligand, and may be useful in cancer diagnostics and therapies that rely on immune system modulation.
Claims4
An isolated nucleic acid molecule encoding an IL-17 receptor-related protein, said nucleic acid is selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) an isolated nucleic acid molecule of SEQ. ID NO:
- 1, and
- (b) an isolated nucleic acid molecule differing from the isolated nucleic acid molecules of (a) in codon sequence due to the degeneracy of the genetic code, and which encodes an IL-17 receptor-related protein of SEQ ID No. 5.
A vector comprising a nucleic acid molecule of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 and regulatory elements necessary for expressing nucleic acid molecule in a cell.
