A polymer comprising pentafluorosulfanyl substituted thienothiophene comprised of polymerized units represented by the formula:

• where n is an integer, Y comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of —CZ′═CZ2— or —C≡C—, and Z1 and Z2 comprise at least one member independently selected from the group consisting of H, F, Cl and CN.
