Abstract
A method of rebooting an operating system including a plurality of load modules in a single computer. One load module which is to be operated during rebooting of the operating system is held in a memory, while establishing a state capable of accepting interrupt to be processed by the one load module. All the other load modules are loaded in a memory of the computer. Processing of the interrupt can be executed by the one load module even during rebooting of the operating system.
Claims10
A method of rebooting an operating system including a plurality of load modules loaded in a memory of a computer, comprising the steps of:
- reserving an information in connection with one or more non-stop modules to be operated during rebooting of said operating system, into said memory;
- continuously during the rebooting executing a process based on interrupts accepted by said non-stop modules;
- and
- loading said load modules other than said non-stop modules in accordance with said information sustained in said memory.
A computer for rebooting an operating system including a plurality of load modules loaded in a memory of said computer, comprising:
- means for reserving an information in connection with one or more non-stop modules to be operated during rebooting of said operating system, into said memory;
- means for continuously during the rebooting executing a process based on an interrupt accepted by said non-stop modules;
- and
- means for loading said load modules other than said non-stop modules in accordance with said information sustained in said memory.
A computer, comprising:
- a memory;
- means for reserving an information in connection with one or more non-stop modules to be operated during rebooting of an operating system, into said memory;
- means for continuously during the rebooting accepting an interrupt by said non-stop modules;
- and
- means for loading load modules other than said non-stop modules in accordance with said information sustained in said memory.
