Bioanalytical measuring method for determining catalases and peroxidases, as well as conjugates, substrates, activators and inhibitors thereof

A method for detecting an analyte comprising:

• (a) adding a reagent comprising a trivalent europium ion, at least one organic ligand of the europium (III) ion and hydrogen peroxide to a sample containing an analyte selected from the group consisting of an enzyme, an enzyme labelled biomolecule, an enzyme inhibitor, an enzyme activator, and a substrate of a peroxidase, wherein the enzyme is selected from the group consisting of a catalase and a peroxidase;
• (b) wherein when for the detection of a peroxidase, a substrate of peroxidase is added to the sample;
• or wherein when the detection is for a substrate of a peroxidase, a peroxidase is added to the sample;
• and
• (c) qualitatively detecting or quantitatively determining the analyte on the basis of changes in luminescence-optical properties of the reagent used in (a).
