Method and system for playing broadcasts with a mobile telecommunication device that includes multiple tuners

A mobile device that provides for telecommunication and playing broadcasts, comprising:

• a first and second tuner to alternate in tuning to a current playing broadcast and scanning for another broadcast based on at least one scan criterion;
• a player to play a broadcast;
• and
• an application communicatively coupled to the tuners and the player to control said alternate tuning and scanning by said first and second tuners, and said playing of a broadcast by said player;
• wherein the application is further equipped to interrupt the currently playing broadcast when the mobile device is selected for another purpose, and causes the currently playing broadcast to be recorded from a point of interruption.

A mobile device that provides for telecommunication and playing broadcasts, comprising:

• a tuner to tune to a current playing broadcast;
• a player to play a broadcast;
• and
• an application communicatively coupled to the tuner and the player to control said tuner and said player;
• wherein the application is further equipped to interrupt the currently playing broadcast when the mobile device is selected for another purpose, and causes the currently playing broadcast to be recorded from a point of interruption.

A mobile device that provides for telecommunication and playing broadcasts, comprising:

• a first and second tuner to alternate in tuning to a current playing broadcast and scanning for another broadcast based on at least one scan criterion;
• a player coupled to the first and second tuners to selectively play a broadcast;
• and
• an application communicatively coupled to the tuners and the player to control said alternate tuning and scanning by said first and second tuners, and said playing of a broadcast by said player;
• wherein the application is further equipped to interrupt a currently playing broadcast when a telephone call is placed or received using the mobile device.
