The collection apparatus or device has walls (back wall (1), top wall (5), lower wall (6), side walls (7,8)) forming a container with an front opening (10) and a bottom opening (26). The front opening (10) has a continuous edge (9) that has a front splash guard (25), wherein the front splash guard (25) configuration aids in preventing urine from splashing back out of the collection device after urine has once entered the device by a male urinating.
