The specification describes a technique for drawing circular core multimode optical fiber using twist during draw to increase fiber bandwidth.
Claims4
An article comprising multimode optical fiber having:
- i an essentially circular core
- ii a radially varying refractive index, and
- iii a core diameter greater than 30 microns, with a twist impressed on the core, the twist being at least one per meter of optical fiber.
