Abstract
Provided are a computer implemented method, system, and program for accessing information on a device. A first and second buffers are generated in a computer readable medium. The first buffer is indicated as a read buffer. Property values are returned from the buffer indicated as the read buffer in response to requests for property values for the device. The second buffer is indicated as a refresh buffer. Updates to the property values accessed from the device are written to the buffer indicated as the refresh buffer.
Claims53
A method for accessing information on a device, comprising:
- generating in a computer readable medium a first and second buffers;
- indicating the first buffer as a read buffer;
- returning property values from the buffer indicated as the read buffer in response to requests for property values for the device;
- indicating the second buffer as a refresh buffer;
- and
- writing updates to the property values accessed from the device to the buffer indicated as the refresh buffer.
A system for accessing information on a device, comprising:
- a computer readable medium;
- means for generating in the computer readable medium a first and second buffers;
- means for indicating the first buffer as a read buffer;
- means for returning property values from the buffer indicated as the read buffer in response to requests for property values for the device;
- means for indicating the second buffer as a refresh buffer;
- and
- means for writing updates to the property values accessed from the device to the buffer indicated as the refresh buffer.
A system for accessing information on a device, comprising:
- a computer readable medium;
- a processor;
- storage;
- code implemented in the storage, wherein the code causes the processor to perform:
- (i) generating in the computer readable medium a first and second buffers;
- (ii) indicating the first buffer as a read buffer;
- (iii) returning property values from the buffer indicated as the read buffer in response to requests for property values for the device;
- (iv) indicating the second buffer as a refresh buffer;
- and
- (v) writing updates to the property values accessed from the device to the buffer indicated as the refresh buffer.
An article of manufacture including instruction for performing operations, when executed by a processor, for accessing information on a device, the operations comprising:
- generating in a computer readable medium a first and second buffers;
- indicating the first buffer as a read buffer;
- returning property values from the buffer indicated as the read buffer in response to requests for property values for the device;
- indicating the second buffer as a refresh buffer;
- and
- writing updates to the property values accessed from the device to the buffer indicated as the refresh buffer.
A computer readable medium for maintaining information on a device, comprising:
- a first and second buffers, wherein the first buffer is indicated as a read buffer and the second buffer is indicated as a refresh buffer, wherein property values are returned from the buffer indicated as the read buffer in response to requests for property values for the device, and wherein updates to the property values accessed from the device are written to the buffer indicated as the refresh buffer.
