Abstract
A storage unit providing a storage space is disclosed. The storage unit comprises a base and a panel moveable relative to the base to expose and conceal a storage space a handle configured for at least vertical movement, at least one connector configured for at least vertical movement, and a member coupled by the connector to the handle through the panel and configured for at least horizontal movement.
Claims54
In a storage unit of a type having a base and a panel moveable relative to the base to expose and conceal a storage space, the improvement comprising:
- a handle configured for at least vertical movement;
- at least one connector extending through the panel and configured for at least vertical movement;
- a member configured for at least horizontal movement;
- and
- a projection configured to engage a slot to provide guided movement of the member, wherein the slot is diagonal.
A storage unit providing a storage space comprising:
- a base configured to at least partially define the storage space;
- a panel moveable relative to the base to expose and conceal the storage space between an open position and a closed position;
- a handle located on a first side of the panel and configured for at least vertical movement;
- a member configured for at least horizontal movement between a first position and a second position and having at least one diagonal slot;
- and
- a projection extending from the panel and engaging the slot to couple the member to the panel and to guide the member between the first position and the second position.
A storage unit providing a storage space comprising:
- a base configured to at least partially define the storage space;
- a panel moveable relative to the base to expose and conceal the storage space between an open position and a closed position;
- a member configured for diagonal movement parallel relative to the panel between a first position and a second position vertically and horizontally offset from the second position;
- a handle configured for at least vertical movement and configured to move the member between the first position and the second position;
- wherein the member is coupled to the panel by engagement between at least one projection extending from the panel and a slot in the member;
- and
- wherein the slot extends in both a vertical direction and a horizontal direction relative to the member.
A storage unit comprising:
- a base;
- a panel movable relative to the base between an open position and a closed position;
- a member configured for movement parallel to the panel and between a first position and a second position vertically offset and horizontally offset from the first position relative to the panel;
- a projection configured to engage a slot to provide guided movement of the member,
- wherein the member is moved to the first position to secure the panel in the closed position, and
- wherein the slot extends both vertically and horizontally.
