Abstract
The liquid crystal display device of the present invention comprises first and second substrates, a first alignment layer on the first substrate, wherein the first alignment layer includes polyethyleneimine, and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates.
Claims40
A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device, comprising:
- providing first and second substrates;
- forming a first alignment layer on the first substrate, wherein the first alignment layer includes polyethyleneimine, wherein the first alignment layer includes at least one photo-sensitive constituent;
- and
- providing a layer of liquid crystal material between the first and second substrates.
- wherein the at least one photo-sensitive constituent includes cinnamoyl derivatives.

A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device, comprising:
- providing a substrate;
- forming a photo-alignment layer on the substrate, wherein forming the photo-alignment layer comprises providing polyethylene cinnamate;
- and
- providing a liquid crystal material on the photo-alignment layer.
