A method of treating an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) selected from the group consisting of Crohn's disease and IBD-related diarrhea in a subject suffering from said inflammatory bowel disease, the method comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of the probiotic Escherichia coil strain BU-230-98 (ATCC Deposit No. 202226 DSM 12799).
